Travmatik acıların ortasında herkes doğaüstü güçlere inanma eğilimindeyken, Florence Cathcart adında sahtekarlıkları, asparagasları çözme ve 'hayaletleri yakalama' konusunda uzman bir kadın, bir şikayet üzerine taşrada yatılı bir okula gelir. Kendisine iletilen bilgilere göre okulda birden çok hayalet gezmekte, öğrencilere ve hademelere görünmektedir.
